I always feel like when one opportunity ends this is an opportunity to start a new chapter. Even though I have been laid off for a few months I am looking at this time as an opportunity to find something else or create something I would enjoy doing. As a human being we learn to adapt to our circumstances. The great thing is we have tools like Career Builder to help us find the next opportunity. It is up to us to make ourselves valuable to the company that is hiring. What an exciting time to move on to something new!

i haven’t worked since an accident in 2004. i’m looking forward to restarting my career now that my rehabilitation has been completed.although i’m not able to do what i did before, i hope to retrain and use CareerBuilder as my source for finding gainful employment

I HAVE WRITTEN A COMMERCIAL ABOUT MY JOB SEARCH THAT INCORPORATES THE MONKEY FROM MONKEY MAIL…IN THESE TIMES IF YOU CAN’T LAUGH A LITTLE ABOUT HOW MUCH THE JOB SEARCH SUCKS YOU WILL GO INSANE…BASICALLY IT IS A SERIES OF VIGNETTES SHOWING ME BEING INTERVIEWED, MAKING SALES CALLS, ETC WITH THE MONKEY…THERE IS CHICANERY AT EVERY TURN…SOME OF THE COMPANIES THAT ARE HIRING AND THEIR MANAGERS HAVE NOTHING ON THAT MONKEY AS FAR AS SKILL SETS/QUALITY OF THE JOB GO.

Never give up on the job search as I am now in a job I found on the Career Builder website for over a year now and yes it ia a career type job. I thank Career Builder’s email daily notification system of jobs that fit my qualifications for alerting me to my current job.

I am a 69 year old 80% disabled Viet-Nam Veteran who has been forced to return to the job market after being financially raped (to the tune of $500,000) by insurance companies and credit card companies. My daughter was killed in a car accident. The insurance voided payment by sending my preimum back and had it dated by the post office the day prior to her death. I lost “Gadbury vs. Womack, Marion County Superior Court 1999″ based on the “Mail-Box” Rule. Imediately my home owners insurance rate and credit card interest rates trippled because of poor credit score created by the insurance company. I am finding it difficult to find employment because no one want to hire a Senior Citizen. I am healthier now than when I was thirty and prescription drug free.

After being unemployed for over two years, I landed a full-time job with benefits during the recession. Normally I would consider myself the luckiest man on earth but here’s the catch: I have to commute two hours each way to and from work. I’ll probably end up moving but right now I get a LOT of reading done on the train, ferry and bus.
